Inspired by our shared love for islands, where our paths crossed. A love ignited instantly, as if we'd known each other forever. My vibrant, printed universe, shaped during my travels, reflects the craving for more colors, more sunshine, more patterns. -
Our story
Both of us are passionate travelers, and longtime best friends, from Reunion Island, a French island off the coast of Africa.
We created Back Cartel in 2020, after leaving the comfort of home to experience a fresh taste of freedom and a life inspired by our own happiness in Bali.
We came up with the idea when we were searching online for backless dresses for an event. We realised how hard it was to find a brand specialising in pretty backless dresses...one that was trendy, and good quality. We started by designing our dream backless dress before deciding to share it with you...and to make it a real clothing line.
The story of Back Cartel came to life through effortlessly elegant designs, which are handmade with love by our wonderful Balinese artisans.
Back Cartel introduces easy living but stylish creations that let women be free to be themselves.
